Support
on your spiritualjourney

as a Christian chaplain, I believe in the strength of the individual as part of the body of Christ. while we may use the same text, we interpret it from our own experience, culture, tradition, and education — therefore, I might offer a way to support your faith but  it is not the only way.

I provide a variety of services to encourage and support you
on your spiritual journey.

As a Christian chaplain, I provide a variety of services to encourage and support you on your spiritual journey.

If I am unable to serve you due to theology, personality, illness,
or other reason, I will do my best to connect you with another chaplain
who is capable of serving you.

01Siritual Counseling
/

Listen to advice and accept discipline, so that you may be wise the rest of your days. Many plans are in a person’s heart, but the advice of the Lord will stand - Proverbs 19:20-21Spiritual counseling is not the same as licensed clinical mental health counseling and should not be treated as such.

As a chaplain, it is my privilege to hold a sacred space for you as we journey through life together.
I offer a nonjudgmental and empathic environment, as well as spiritual guidance for a range of ages and life experiences as we work together to make meaning, wrestle with challenges, and celebrate experiences.

Please note that in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, there is no clergy-penitent privilege in regard to cases of admitted or suspected child abuse.

02Weddings+ Pre-Marital Counseling
/

In the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, I officiate Protestant Christian weddings.
This also includes pre-marital counseling, which covers topics like communication, values and beliefs, family of origin (i.e. patterns of relating to one another, family history, values), boundaries, and goals and expectations.

Due to the sacred nature of marriage and I responsibility I claim in blessing it, if I do not feel confident officiating a union before, during, or after pre-marital counseling I will respectfully decline and do my best to connect you with another officiant.

03 Funerals + Memorial Services
/

Death of a loved one, even when expected, can be a difficult experience.
As a chaplain, I minister Protestant Christian funerals in accordance with the beliefs of the deceased — regardless of church membership.

While funerals are a time for mourning and honoring grief, they are also a time for remembering the hope we have in Christ. Along with ministering or assisting with funeral services, I provide counseling services if desired to support you through grief.

04 Name Meaning + Identity
/

Even though our parents, guardians, or other figures in our lives are typically the ones to choose our names, I believe that God inspires those choices.
Throughout Scripture, names given at birth carry significance over people’s lives, or they may be given new names by God.

Our names hold identities spoken over us by God. Whether you are looking for significance in your own name or brainstorming names, I can help you connect
the meaning and symbolism in an identity.

05 Prayer
/

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.-Philippians 4:6-7

Prayer is the most powerful spiritual resource we have. I consider it a privilege to join you in offering petitions or thanksgiving. Please note that in
the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, there is no clergy-penitent privilege in regard to cases of admitted or suspected child abuse.
Also, please note that I am not a Catholic priest and cannot accept Catholic confession, though I am happy to connect you with a Catholic chaplain.

06Sermons
/

All Scripture is inspired by God and beneficial for teaching, for rebuke, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man or woman of God may be fully capable, equipped for every good work.
- 2 Timothy 3:16-17

All Christians are entitled and encouraged to read and understand Scripture for themselves;
however, it can be helpful to hear other perspectives and interpretations. Whether you have a particular passage or topic in mind or are open to me sharing whatever
I feel the Lord leading me to, I offer sermons and am happy to discuss possible interpretations of Scripture with you.

My sermons are in accordance with my education and interpretation of Scripture and may or may not align with your interpretation or theology.

07Communion
/

When we partake of Communion, we engage in a ritual proclaiming the death and resurrection of Christ, acknowledging the eternal hope we have as a result,
and joining with those who share the same hope.

I believe that Communion is open to all who profess a belief in Christ, regardless of church membership.
That is why you should examine yourself before eating the bread and drinking the cup. For if you eat the bread or drink the cup without honoring the body of Christ, you are eating and drinking God’s judgment upon yourself.
- 1 Corinthians 11:28-29
